A large casted bronze cattle bell from the Alps region of Switzerland, manufactured around 1900. The antique bell features high relief motifs of cattles, heraldig symbols of Luzern and Switzerland as well as a foundy mark. The bell still has its original brown leather strap with buckle. These bells are used to locate cattles in the pasture. Cattles wear them around their neck so cowboys can easily find them in the Alpine landscape. Excellent condition with patinated bronze finish.
