A rare vintage garden gnome, Germany ca. 1950s. The gnome has a fishing rod with a fish in his hand. It is made of terracotta, the fish of plastic. Good used vintage condition with signs of wear commensurate with age. Some rubbed areas and partially painted over. Overall with great original patina. Please see pictures.

Traditionally, the garden figures represented male gnomes wearing red pointed caps and carrying garden tools, typically between one and two feet tall and used in Europe as decoration for bourgeois gardens.
