A large garden gnome manufactured by Heissner, Germany, ca. 1920s. The dwarf has grabbed a pig by the hind legs and is holding it like a wheelbarrow. Very good original vintage condition.

Traditionally, the garden figures represented male gnomes wearing red pointed caps and carrying garden tools, typically between one and two feet tall and used in Europe as decoration for bourgeois gardens.
