Lars Hellsten (1933-2022) was a swedisch glass artist. He studied sculpture at the University of Arts, Crafts, and Design in Stockholm and began his professional career at the Skruf glassworks in 1964. In 1972 he moved to Orrefors, where he worked for over 25 years. His artistic works are represented in renowned collections throughout Europe, including the National Museum and the Nordiska Museet in Stockholm, the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Among his best-known designs is the 'Discus' collection for Orrefors, a symbol of his minimalist yet expressive approach to form and function in glass art.
