Clear glass with etched high relief decor depicting tulips cased with a thick layer of clear glass. Signed Astrid Grate, Johansfors and numbered 10/25. Astrid Gate (*1956) is the granddaughter of the Swedish glass artist Simon Gate (1883 - 1945). In 1985 she attended an orientation course in glass at the Orrefors Glass School. After her training, she worked at Orrefors as an engraver and designer for a year before starting her own company and producing art glass. From 1996 to 2008 she worked as a designer for Johansfors Glassworks. Together with Wilke Adolfson and Micke Johansson, she developed the complex double grail and triple grail techniques.
