Toni Zuccheri (1936 – 2008) was the artist with the special spirit for birds and nature. His passion is reflected in many of his glass artworks. During his education he had the chance to work with Carlo Scarpa, Franco Albini and Ignazio Gardella. Animals and especially birds (such as hens, roosters and guinea fowls and also seagulls, gulls and ducks ) remained his favourite subject. The 'Bestiary' (beasts) series from the 1960s is among the most famous products of Murano glass. The value of his creations was evident in worldwide exhibition and in Venice at the Venini showroom in St. Mark’s Square.
