Tyra Lundgreen (1897 – 1979) was a Swedish painter, ceramist, glass and textile designer. In 1936, she met the glassmaker Paolo Venini at the Triennale di Milano. He invited her to Murano and she became the first woman to design glass for Venini. Her bird, fish and snake sculptures belong to the most seeked Venini glasses. In 1938 and 1948 her designs for Venini were exhibited at the Venice Biennale. Lundgren also worked as glassware designer at Moser, Karlsbad, Riihimäki, Finnland and Kosta, Sweden. In 1950, she was awarded the Swedish royal medal Litteris et Artibus in recognition of her artistic career.
