Colorless glass with a blue overlay, cooled, sandblasted with a geometrical pattern, re-heated and cased with colorless glass. This example dates to 1964. Ingeborg Lundin (1921-1992) was the first female Swedish artglass desginer working for Orrefors. She became known with her designs for cutted and EXPO glasses and designed also in the 'Ariel technique', named after Shakespeare's air spirit Ariel from his last play 'The Tempest'. Simple elegance and functional simplicity are the characteristics for the iconic 'The Apple' Vase from 1955. With this design Ingeborg Lunin won the Gold Prize of the 1957 Triennale in Milano.
