Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso Vase in Filigree Glass ca. 1950s
Item e6595

A large Murano art glass vase designed by Dino Martens and manufactured by Aureliano Toso in Italy Murano in the 1950s. The vase is executed in white, aventurin and black filigree 'filigrana semplice a fascia bianca nera' glass. Aureliano Toso model number 5222. One of the iconic designs of Dino Martens which will highlight every Murano glass collection.

Coming from a family of Murano glassmakers, Aureliano Toso founded his own company in 1938. The collaboration with the painter and artist Dino Martens already showed the first successes at the XXIII Biennale di Venezia. Over the years, more daring creations followed, which, as with Pop Art, were clearly far ahead of their time. Later, the influence of artists like Gino Poli and Enrico Potz can be seen in the creations. The production ended in 1965.
