Great Wild Boar Trophy Mount on Wooden Plaque ca. 1950s

A large vintage wild boar (Sus scrofa) trophy on wooden plaque with dark green finish. The trophy comes from the stately home of Palace Salem in South Germany and was shot in the late 20th century by a member of the lordly family of Margrave Maximilian of Baden.

Trophies are souvenirs of hunted game, which are kept by hunters as souvenirs or decorative objects. For many centuries it was a tradition to collect trophies. Nowadays, trophies are increasingly used as decorative elements in hunting lodges.

This item contains parts of animal origin, which belong to non-threatened and non-endangered animals and which comply with US Fish & Wildlife regulations. They are not listed in Appendices I and II of CITES. Our international shipments respect the laws of all countries.
