Vintage Bavarian Traditional Costume Jewelry Charivari with Hunting Pendants
Item e7770

A Bavarian Charivari from the middle of the 20th century. A beautiful piece of historical Bavarian folk art jewelry, a real collector's item. A charivari is a traditional piece of Bavarian costume jewelry. It is worn by men on the bib of their traditional leather pants. The charivari was used as jewelry or as a talisman for a successful hunt and is a valuable status symbol for the wearer. This example is quite heavy and robust and features six rare pieces of jewelry: a tuft of animal hair, two antler tips, a chamois tip, a silver-rimmed deer tooth (grandels) and double fox teeth.
