A vintage Black Forest wild boar (Sus scrofa) teeth trophy on wooden plaque. The teeth are mounted in a silver plated mounting with a small chain. The chain is hinged on the wooden carved plaque. The mounting features the engraved place and date of the hunt on the front and name of the hunter on the back. The boar was shot in Germany in 1973.
Trophies are mementos from the hunted game, which are kept by the huntsmen as a souvenir or decorative item. For many centuries it was a tradition to collect trophies. Nowadays exactly these are becoming more and more popular as decorative highlights in hunting lodges.
