This painting depicts the portrait of a 19th-century Viennese man in his traditional costume. Shown in a three-quarter view but gazing directly at the viewer, he has dark hair neatly trimmed at the sides and a distinctive upward-twisted mustache. He wears a dark jacket featuring a high green collar with elegant gold embellishments and several ornate gold buttons. The painting was painted in oil on canvas in 1892 by an unknown artist. It is signed illegibly in the lower right corner. It is in good condition considering its age. It is framed in an ornate, elaborately crafted gold frame. The frame has been restored in several places.
