Antique Carved Hunting Pipe by Lebrecht Wilhelm Schulz, Meiningen ca.1860
Item e8210

Exceptional hunting pipe (Gesteckpfeife) crafted from finely carved stag antler, attributed to Lebrecht Wilhelm Schulz of Meiningen. The pipe bowl features masterfully executed relief carvings of deer, standing out in bright contrast against the darker, naturally textured antler background—an effect characteristic of Schulz’s work. The lid is surmounted by a sculptural figure of a reclining hunting dog, reinforcing the strong hunting theme. These elaborate pipes were prestigious objects, combining functionality with refined decorative artistry rooted in German hunting tradition.
