Rare Antique Porcelain Bear Jug / Figural Vessel, ca. 1900
Item e8217

Rare figural porcelain vessel, modeled as a bear with finely detailed features. Although resembling an elaborate sauce boat today, such pieces were historically used as novelty vessels—serving as mustard pots, small pouring jugs, or decorative collectible items. The base bears an underglaze blue crossed swords mark. However, this is not a genuine Meissen mark. These marks were often used to make it appear as though the product was made in Meissen. Condition: Minor damage to the tip of the spoon and a repaired handle (see images).
