A large stork sculpture made of terracotta, produced as a garden decoration by Heissner, Germany, ca. 1950s. The statue has a pair of metal feet, which are removable. Very good original condition.
Traditionally, the garden figures represented male gnomes wearing red pointed caps and carrying garden tools, typically between one and two feet tall and used in Europe as decoration for bourgeois gardens.
