An antique early 20th century wooden carved sculpture of a danube salmon. Handcarved and painted with naturalistic details - most probably in Austria around 1900. A young fisherman is sitting on the back of the salmon with a small fish in his arm and fishing net with his catch. This exceptional carved sculpture was used as decoration in the smokehouse of the monastery Melk in Austria which is located directly beside the river danube. The sculpture would be a stunning addition to any restaurant. Very good condition, please contact us for a detailed condition report.
