large antique alpine casted bronze cow bell with leather strap ca. 1900

An antique casted bronze cow bell from the alps region of Switzerland, manufactured around 1900. The antique bell features high relief motifs of cows, and shamrock as well as a foundy mark. The bell still has its original brown leather strap with buckle. These bells are used to locate cattles in the pasture. Cows wear them around their neck so owners can easily find them in the alpine landscape. Good condition with patinated bronze finish.
