A rare pair of naturalistically carved cattles - bull and cow - standing on a shaped wooden plinth. Carvend in lindenwood, most probably by Johann Huggler arond 1900 in the area of Brienz in Swizerland. The muscular animals are carved with realistic details. The plinth itself is slightly domed at the center and bears stylized plants. A great addition to a traditional decor in your home or an office setting. They perfectly can be displayed on a desk or vitrin. They are in very good condition. Please contact us for a detailed condition report. Literature: Similar examples are illustrated in "Swiss Carvings - The Art of the Black Forest" by Jay Arenski, Simon Daniels and Michael Daniels on pages 83-85.
