Rustic Black Forest Antler Chandelier ca. 1900
Item e4261

An antique rustic antler chandelier made of original deer and virginia deer antlers. Manufactured in Germany around 1900. The chandelier features 6 electrified spouts in candle design. The original cabling has to be renewed. It will be a great accessory for your log cabin.

At the beginning of the 19th century the European nobility discovered antler furnishings for their hunting castles and countryseats. The furniture was either manufactured completely from e.g. stag antler, or it was decorated with antler pieces from the stag, deer, fallow deer and others to get a hunting desing. A famous example was the interior design of 'Jagdschloss Platte' (hunting castle Platte) of count William of Nassau near Wiesbaden, Germany in 1825.
