A rare antique Black Forest deer trophy (Capreolus capreolus) on a wooden plate with a black finish. It comes from the manor house of Salem Castle in southern Germany. Shot by a member of the family of Margrave Maximilian von Baden. With handwritten inscription of the date and place of the hunt on the skull. Germany 1861.
