Pair of Antique Bull Horn Chairs Austria 1870
Item e5679

A pair antique bull horn chairs, from a noble villa in Austria. The seats are with antique green velvet fabric. The chairs are in unrestored original condition, fabric needs to be renewed.

At the beginning of the 19th century the European nobility discovered antler furnishings for their hunting castles and countryseats. The furniture was either manufactured completely from e.g. stag antler, or it was decorated with antler pieces from the stag, deer, fallow deer and others to get a hunting desing. A famous example was the interior design of 'Jagdschloss Platte' (hunting castle Platte) of count William of Nassau near Wiesbaden, Germany in 1825.
